A redesign built to get young people involved
A web redesign that brings youth into the conversation, with several local and community initiatives in one place, stronger social media outreach and a digital Mini-Grant application that helps other local communities get funding to prevent gun violence.
The starting point
Safe & Sound Hillsborough is a community safety nonprofit in Hillsborough County. It needed a web redesign that would capture youth involvement and give its many local and community initiatives a clear home, so young people, families and partners could each find their way in.
What we built
A redesigned website, made for phones first, with a hub for its local and community initiatives: the Social Media Challenge, Mini-Grants, Upcoming Events and Volunteer Registration. We increased their social media outreach with a campaign across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Nextdoor. And we implemented a digital Mini-Grant application, which adds up budgets as applicants type and checks answers before they submit, to help other local communities get funding to prevent gun violence.
The impact
More local visibility: community leaders and local officials are taking notice of the organization and its work.
